The Historic DeSoto Hotel in downtown Savannah is looking for someone to join our amazing kitchen crew as a PT Dishwasher / Steward for Saturday and Sunday nights!
POSITION TITLE: Dish Washer
DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage/Stewarding
REPORTS TO (TITLE): F&B Director
SUPERVISES: None
DATE (Revised): February 10, 2025
BASIC FUNCTION: The Dishwasher will clean all dishes, pots, and pans for the kitchen/banquets
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with chemicals.
Experience washing dishes in a high-volume restaurant/hotel environment
Hard worker.
Organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure all dishes are cleaned when shift begins.
Wash all dishes, glassware, and silverware and store neatly.
Wash all pots and pans and store neatly.
All food stains, smoke stain, etc. must be removed before storage takes place.
Floor and trashcans must stay clean.
Keep the workspace clear.
All counters must be cleaned at the end of the shift.
Meet all cleaning and sanitation requirements.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Assist cooks in anything that may need to be cleaned up.
ENVIRONMENT:
Inside main kitchen standing on hard tile floors. Busy noisy environment.
