Job Purpose
Front Office Clerks are responsible for providing various essential administrative duties for the physicians and clinic, while maintaining the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position is crucial for the continued growth and development of the company, as the general nature of the job includes responsibilities that highly affect the overall success. The front office is a significant aspect of our clinic for many reasons, but most importantly because of its role with initial patient contact. First impression is everything, and we strive to ensure that our patients are greeted with the utmost respect, professionalism, and sincerity.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Open and close clinic, daily
· Check-in patients
· Update patient demographics, and obtain signature confirmation of any changes
· Scan patient ID’s and insurance cards, and import into patient charts
· Collect monies (copays / balances / deductibles)
· Create batch reports and balance daily monies collected
· Balance total monies collected between front office clerks and appointment clerks
· Directly correspond with billing department for any billing or payment inquiries
· Ensure medical records and lab sheets are in place for the arrival of next-day New Patients
· Aid in work-flow operations, such as scanning, or sorting and distributing mail
· Assist physician(s) and clinical staff by corresponding with patients, or any other responsibilities delegated to you by a physician(s) or manager
Qualifications
Medical office experience is preferred; although, it is not required. Must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must have effective communication and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and maintain responsibilities with limited supervision, proficiency with computer and technical literacy, efficient problem-solving and teamwork skills, interpersonal abilities, and the ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Working Conditions
This job requires the ability to work early morning hours, and flexibility with afternoon hours. Work hours for Front Office Clerks are 6:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. There are certain responsibilities, however, that must be completed prior to leaving each day, so flexibility with work hours is a necessity for this position.

Pay: From $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
