Role Overview

TDC is seeking a Director of Member Services to lead our member success, engagement, and partnership initiatives. This individual will be critical in ensuring member retention, driving growth, and optimizing the overall member experience at TDC. Additionally, they will identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that align with TDC’s mission, expand its influence, and create new opportunities for business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong relationship management skills, sales and customer service experience, and a deep understanding of cultivating and maintaining high-value memberships. This role is full-time based in Washington, DC, with frequent travel required for member engagement and events.

Key Responsibilities

Member Success & Retention

  • Serve as the primary Relationship Manager for assigned member accounts, ensuring a seamless and valuable experience for members.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each member’s business model, policy interests, and the specific benefits they seek from their TDC membership.
  • Oversee and execute the delivery of membership benefits, coordinating with internal teams to ensure expectations are met.
  • Renew member accounts annually for commission-based bonuses.
  • Maintain strong personal relationships with decision-makers at member organizations, ensuring at least one in-person interaction annually.
  • Track and analyze member engagement to identify opportunities for increased involvement and retention.

Member Engagement & Strategic Growth

  • Proactively create and facilitate engagement opportunities that align with members’ business objectives, including exclusive roundtables, working groups, and one-on-one policymaker introductions.
  • Partner with TDC policy team to ensure members are informed and engaged in relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Lead all renewal communications and processes, ensuring seamless execution and retention of revenue.
  • Partnership Development & Business Growth

  • Drive partnership strategy by identifying synergies between TDC members and external organizations, ensuring that partnerships contribute to membership growth and retention.
  • Work across Business Development and Events departments to collaborate with external organizations, corporate partners, and media to create co-branded initiatives, joint events, and advocacy campaigns.
  • Explore sponsorship opportunities and funding partnerships that support TDC’s events and policy initiatives in conjunction with business development team.
  • Ideal Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 years of experience in membership services, business development, or client relationship management, preferably in a trade association, lobbying firm, or policy-driven organization.
  • Proven track record in membership retention, revenue growth, and engagement strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of the blockchain and digital asset industry or an ability to quickly develop expertise in relevant policy areas.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills , with a strong ability to engage high-level executives and policymakers.
  • Highly proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM tools for managing membership data and engagement.
  • Ability to travel frequently for in-person meetings, conferences, and events.
