Basic Qualifications
Education/Training:
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required, specialized banking education and training.
Skill(s): Clearly communicates in English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; thorough knowledge of current lending regulations and bank operating policies and procedures which impact loan administration; moderate knowledge of underwriting, processing, and documentation requirements; thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all loan products and services; proficient PC skills and thorough knowledge of systems and software which impact loan administration processes; working knowledge of management and supervisory skills; visual and auditory skills.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in related positions is normally required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to meet the commercial services needs of business customers; supervising the entire commercial loan process; providing support to lending officers and commercial loan administrators; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the commercial services function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
Essential Duties
- Performs a variety of duties to support the loan servicing function of which the following are illustrative:
a. Assists with the entire commercial loan process, including underwriting, documentation, and loan closing processes by providing supervisory support to the commercial loan administrators.
b. Oversees the renewal process for revolving lines of credit
c. Monitors and maintains the quality and compliance of the commercial loan pipeline.
d. Works closely with the commercial loan administrators on the most complex files.
e. May complete all underwriting on commercial loan files as required by volume.
f. Monitors commercial revolving line pipeline to initiate review process
g. Reviews the process to ensure efficiency and full utilization of available loan technology.
h. Ensures the department procedure is kept up to date.
2. Performs a variety of duties to meet the service needs of commercial customers as follows:
a. Provides direct service to commercial customers of the Bank with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services.
b. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Bank commercial products and services to ascertain customer needs.
c. Assists with research and customer inquiries concerning existing accounts.
d. Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other Bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
e. Maintains a working knowledge of Bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.
f. Greets customers in-person and/or on the phone as needed.
3. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
a. Approves non-exempt time records.
b. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
c. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs.
d. Creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
e. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by Bank policy
f. Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
g. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
h. Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on an annual basis thereafter.
4. Takes ownership, accepts responsibility and sets a positive example for the staff that models the corporate philosophy and strategic initiatives.
5. Quickly adapts to changes and presents a positive atmosphere to the staff as it relates to the changes.
6. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
7. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
8. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
9. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
10. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
11. Participates in community organizations and activities in a manner which reflects favorably on the Bank.
