Summary/Objective
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Psychiatrist is a member of the Pediatric and Adult Medicine Department within Health Services. They support Dimock’s mission which is to heal and uplift individuals, families and communities. Dimock’s vision is to redefine the model of a healthy community by creating equitable access to comprehensive health care and education.
The Psychiatrist helps advance this vision by providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations with follow up treatment as appropriate for a full range of psychiatric and substance use disorders to individuals who receive their Primary Care at Dimock. These services are provided fully embedded within the structure of the Primary Care setting in order to break down barriers to access to mental health treatment.
Essential Functions
Partially office-based providing in-person care and partially over telehealth, which may be provided from employee’s home, at the Clinical Director and Program Manager’s discretion.
Physical Demands
Duties may require standing and walking, or sitting for long periods of time. Light lifting may be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part time role (.5) that covers anywhere from Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with one possible “late day” starting at 11:00am and ending at 7:00pm. Saturday coverage in the Pediatric Clinic may also be required with hours ranging from 9:00am until at least 1:00pm, at the discretion of the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Integration and the Program Manager of Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration. A typical day may involve scheduled individual patient visits, phone calls with patients or collaterals, care coordination with other members of the Adult Medicine team or outside members of the patient’s care team, providing group therapy sessions, completing required clinical documentation, completing insurance authorizations or other time-sensitive administrative documentation.

Essential Functions
- Providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for individuals who are Dimock Primary Care patients who have been identified by the Primary Care team and/or Access Therapist and/or Integrated Behavioral Health therapist to require psychiatric evaluation and treatment as a part of their recovery from a Behavioral Health condition.
- Providing continued follow up treatment as appropriate and clinically indicated
- Coordinating with members of the patient’s care team as needed (Primary Care, Therapist, Nursing, Resource, e.g.)
- Documenting clinical work and communications on integrated electronic medical record
- As appropriate, performing monitoring of laboratory or other clinical data to ensure high quality care
- Participating in trainings, clinical supervision, and quality improvement activities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
- Highly organized, timely in work completion, ethical and accurate. Respects confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Thorough knowledge of DSM-V, use of diagnostic screening tools and interventions, and appropriate range of clinical interventions
- Culturally competent and able to adapt therapeutic interventions to an ethnically, linguistically and racially diverse patient population.

- Receptive to constructive feedback
- Familiar with and competent in operations of electronic health records for documentation and clinical communication. Basic skillset in navigating databases.

Required Education And Experience
- Doctor of Medicine (MD)
- Experience in a community health or integrated Behavioral Health setting is a plus
- For Pediatric position, completion of fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is required
- Spanish language skill is a plus
