What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Learning Coordinator position at The Diocese of Toledo?
The Diocese of Toledo is searching for a full-time Professional Learning Coordinator to join our Department of Catholic Education. Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the Professional Learning Coordinator assists the Department of Catholic Education in supporting the Department and Schools in the areas of licensure and professional development. The Professional Learning Coordinator coordinates all licensures and permits for all teachers, principals, coaches and aides within the Diocese of Toledo, in addition to supporting schools in the areas of professional development, ministerial contracts, international student programs, safe environment compliance, and teacher recruiting.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Processes all Ohio Department of Education and Workforce licenses and permits (initial and renewal) for school faculty, administration, and staff accurately and in a timely manner.
· Oversees professional licensure matters for all diocesan locations, functioning as liaison with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and diocesan schools.
· Coordinates various professional development programs for schools, including the Resident Educator Program and Professional Development Committees at the diocesan and local levels. Participates in the planning and delivery of professional development opportunities for faculty and administrators based in the goals of the Department of Catholic Education.
· Serves as a member of the Department of Catholic Education supporting schools in areas that include:
o Review of the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association’s Annual Verification of Standards including school calendars.
o Coordinate with schools and the Department of Homeland Security to process international student visas and fees.
o Collaborates with the Coordinator of the Office of Child and Youth Protection to ensure safe environment standards for employment are met.
o Assists in recruitment of potential educators interested in employment within the Diocese of Toledo, by maintaining relationships with area universities and attending job fairs.
Candidates for the position must possess:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or a related field, or equivalent in experience.
· At least three (3) years of experience working in a professional office setting, with school-related experience strongly preferred.
· Solid understanding of the structure and hierarchy of Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Toledo. Must have the ability to respect, promote, accommodate, and not be in conflict with the mission, moral and social teachings, doctrines and laws of the Roman Catholic faith.
· A high level of computer expertise in Microsoft Office products, the ability to provide an exceptional level of service to school personnel, and must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, simultaneously manage multiple priorities and have attention to detail.
