If you are looking for a unique opportunity and a diverse role within an established, year-round marine manufacturing and construction company then we have an opening for you. The Dock Doctors is seeking a project manager and estimator to join our team working directly with our customers, permitting agencies and third-party architects /engineers. Our diverse product offerings and services will allow you the opportunity of having exposure to custom residential and commercial waterfront projects. This position would involve the administrative management following the projects from commencement to completion. Because of the diversity of our company, we understand that perspective applicants may not possess experience within all of the position responsibilities. Our expectation is to find someone with a well-rounded background in this field with the ability and interest in growing within the company to fulfill the role. This process would involve working with our sales and manufacturing team(s) to understand our design means and methods and how those are applied to our diverse product line. In addition, you would obtain knowledge of steel, aluminum and construction materials typically used in the manufacturing of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
· Custom residential and commercial project sales;
· Preparing estimates/proposals; follow-thru with architects/engineers along with obtaining necessary State, Federal and/or Local permits if required.
· Provide internal project management / support after projects have been sold to the Customer; this would include communicating internal needs from our manufacturing and/or installation team(s) directly to the Customer.
· Obtain knowledge on our products and services to perform on-site consultations;
· Learn the aspects of and perform commercial bid research, estimating and bidding. Work with general contractors, architects and engineers throughout the process.
· Learn the diverse stock product line and showroom process in order to perform the following roles.
o Stock proposals
o Work orders for repairs
o Counter sales for stock products, parts and accessories
· Participate in the collaboration within the team with the emphasis being growth; including but not limited to, new markets (Ex: New Hampshire, Western New York, etc.) long distance sales strategies and municipal / commercial projects.
· Networking to establish new service and installation partnerships throughout the Northeast Region. Working towards continued growth utilizing alternative resources to reach out from typical service location.
Requirements & Qualifications:
· Background within the construction trades with the ability to communicate directly with our Customer / Consumer in person, via email or phone.
· Experience working within a small business team structure with the ability and desire to “wear different hats” throughout the different calendar cycles of our year-round business.
· Ability to multi-task while remaining organized and structured within a fast-paced work environment.
· Proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel and Word which is necessary for our estimating process along with the the ability to learn OrderTime which functions as our operations software.
· Valid Drivers License with the ability to meet typical insurance standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
