The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Lead Person- Refinery to coordinate production and maintenance activities and perform operator tasks in assigned work area. This position will be located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an operating environment.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Experience operating various fixed and mobile equipment and machinery according to established safety procedures.
- Experience or ability to act in a training or mentoring capacity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of operating equipment and machines.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan and assign work by priority.

Ability to coordinate production activities with other departments.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee team’s work and ensure attainment of performance goals.
- Assign safe and environmentally compliant work.
- Inspect team members’ work for quality.
- Operate equipment and machines as needed to assist team.
- Complete paperwork and report information to support work area.
- Report incidents, issues, and concerns to on-site supervisor or other leadership.
- Keeps work areas and equipment clean and organized.
- Provide feedback to hourly workforce regarding job performance.
- Train and mentor new employees.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:
- Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear, work near moving, mechanical parts, in extreme heat, and exposure to loud noise levels. Frequently exposed to vibration. Occasionally required to work in wet, humid conditions.
- Regularly requires talking and hearing. Frequently requires grasping, standing, and walking. Occasionally requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, driving, reaching with hands/arms, climbing or balancing, and performing repetitive movements. Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
