Job Overview: As an Experienced Dog Trainer, you will provide in-home dog training, manage behavior cases, and ensure excellent customer experiences. This role has opportunities for advancement to an Assistant Manager position based on performance. You will work independently while maintaining company standards and growing the business through community engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Dog Training & Behavior Management
- Provide in-home training using balanced training methods.
- Manage behavior cases, including reactivity, aggression, and separation anxiety.
- Conduct group classes and private lessons.
- Guide and educate dog owners to maintain training progress.
Business Operations & Organization
- Manage client schedules and appointments.
- Input client data into software.
- Provide customer service and ongoing client support.
- Ensure adherence to The Dog Wizard’s training standards.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to track progress and manage programs.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Engage in grassroots and social media marketing.
- Attend and host community events.
- Conduct evaluations for potential clients.
- Follow up with leads to convert into sales.
- Encourage and manage client reviews.
Education & Professional Development
- Attend The Dog Wizard Academy for continuing education.
- Participate in annual summits (paid by the company).
- Attend the IACP conference annually.
- Pursue professional growth and maintain certifications.
Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a balanced dog trainer.
- Previous dog handling experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong passion for dogs and dog training.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage schedules.
- Personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
- Personal home with a fenced-in backyard preferred but not required.
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Spartanburg, SC.
Compensation:
Base Salary:
- $1,000 monthly salary
Training Commission Structure:
- Tiered commission based on performance, starting at 15% with opportunities to earn higher percentages with experience and successful completion of programs.
- Revenue from leads gained through events and business partnerships will count toward commission totals.
- Tiered sales commission based on performance.

Total Potential Pay:
