What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Franchise Operations position at The Dog Wizard?
Who we are: The Dog Wizard is a franchising company whose franchise partners and their certified trainers provide exceptional dog training services via our mobile business model whereby our trainers deploy in their logoed vans throughout the territory to train dogs, most typically in spacious public places like park sand community open spaces. We have been in business nearly 20 years and remain committed to enhancing the lives of dogs (and their owners!) by delivering ‘best-in breed’ training programs and services.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operations to join our executive team and be the key interface between the Company and our franchise partners. You will have already demonstrated success in this role, whether it's on a regional or national basis. You must have excellent communication skills whether it's in writing, on conference calls, or on the main stage at our national conference. You need to be approachable but confident, firm yet reasonable, and able to quickly earn the trust of our pack of franchise partners. Lastly, you should have a solid background managing a suite of basic technology tools to coach our franchise partners to sustained success.
While the position is virtual, the successful candidate will need to travel on an as needed basis to meet with the corporate team as well as franchise partners on a nation-wide basis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement operational strategies and programs that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
· Communication: Act as the main liaison between the exec team and franchise community, ensuring clear communication of operational programs.
· Performance Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), sharing findings and making actionable recommendations to the CEO.
· Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions, ensuring best practices are implemented and maintained.
· Budget Management: Oversee the development and management of the operations budget, providing detailed reports and forecasts.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards/regulations.
· Project Oversight: Manage key projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic objectives.
· Technology: Promote the use of our technologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness (including HubSpot, Vonigo, LIS, Videos, education, website, etc.).
· Help lead Discovery Day presentations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a franchise or multi-location business.
- Strong communication skills and a positive demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Strong IT and software platform management skills.
- Experience in budget planning and financial oversight.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
