Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our furry guests. This position requires a strong love for animals and the ability to handle them with care and patience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and play areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment daily
- Monitor the behavior and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns or changes to the supervisor
- Exercise and socialize animals to promote their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications administered, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both animals and pet owners
- Basic computer skills for record keeping purposes
