Dow has an exciting opportunity for an EHS&S Improvement Specialist with a preferred location of Freeport, TX . Also open to other major U.S. Dow sites.
As the EHS&S Improvement Specialist, you will serve as a key resource for the EHS&S Technology Center by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the team to continuous improvement. Additionally, this role may work in various facets of the organization - including environmental regulatory, waste characterization, or environmental reporting. The role may also have a significant amount of transactional data support, including with SAP. The role uses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures to help advance the organization forward.
Responsibilities :
- Applying technical and organizational skills to drive the team to continuous improvement.
- Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities for the function.
- Develops and / or implements EH&S management systems to add value to the function, business, or company.
- Streamlines EH&S work processes by developing / updating operating discipline and associated tools.
- Possesses technology and continuous improvement skill sets to help establish credibility with the various expertise teams.
- Support the waste characterization process including use of SAP.
- May also provide EH&S support to a plant or facilities including supporting permit activities, compliance plans, regulatory assessments, emissions data analysis and reporting.
- May also provide interpretations of environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Implements new or updated EH&S programs.
