Job Summary:
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for supervising the kitchen and front of house staff, including, cleaning the equipment, checking supplies, and rotating food stock.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Supervise kitchen and front of house staff on designated shift;
· Organize food orders;
· Train kitchen employees to meet business and kitchen standards;
· Monitor inventory levels and notify designated personnel when something needs to be ordered;
· Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized;
· Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations;
· Provide support to culinary staff with various tasks, including line cooking, food preparation and dish plating;
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with customers and coworkers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to maintain a positive attitude during difficult situations.
· Ability to exhibit appropriate discretion while receiving complaints, and notifying the correct personnel.
· In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
· Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Education and Experience:
· Associates degree or culinary certification, preferred;
· 2 years’ experience as line cook in a restaurant;
· 1-year supervisory experience.
· ServSafe Certification
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
· Regular exposure bright lights and moderate noise level.
· Regular exposure to kitchen equipment.
· Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
· Must be able to occasionally push or pull up to 50 pounds.
