Overview of the role
We are seeking an ambitious and highly versatile Content Manager to act as a key support to our Editor-in-Chief. Based in Miami, FL the Content Manager will be responsible for commissioning and curating high-quality content, overseeing research, and building strong relationships with contributors and industry experts.
You will leverage AI tools to enhance editorial workflows, streamline content production, and optimise audience engagement. Also, you will contribute to event coverage, content distribution, and occasional journalistic writing.
This unique position requires an individual who is intellectually curious, driven by engagement, relationship building and data-literate, with the ability to represent our brand at events, on panels, and in podcasts. Could this be you?
Responsibilities :
- Conduct in-depth research on industry topics, companies, and trends to inform content strategy.
- Compile briefing notes to help the Editor-in-Chief prepare for interviews and events.
- Gather and analyze data internal and external data to identify emerging themes and story opportunities.
- Work with the Editor-in-Chief to commission, develop, and oversee high-quality content from internal and external contributors.
- Identify and manage relationships with freelance writers, guest contributors, and industry experts.
- Write and / or edit content pieces, including news articles, feature stories, and thought leadership pieces.
- Leverage AI-driven content tools for research, fact-checking, and content generation while maintaining editorial integrity.
- Develop and maintain contacts in the media, marketing, and technology sectors.
- Attend industry events (in-person and virtual) to represent our brand, network, and report on key takeaways.
- Moderate or participate in panel discussions, podcasts, and other public-facing opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, commercial, design) to plan, execute, and optimise multi-platform editorial content
- Oversee editorial calendars, ensuring timely commissioning, production, and publication of content
- Identify content gaps and opportunities to enhance audience engagement and brand authority.
- Stay informed about emerging AI tools that enhance content creation, research, and audience insights.
- Integrate AI into editorial processes to streamline content ideation, workflow automation, and performance analysis.
- Train and guide the editorial team on best practices for using AI in content strategy and production

For this role, there will be two interview stages. The first stage will be via video call and will look at your experience, skills and suitability for the role and what’s required. You can ask us questions and find out more about The Drum.
The second stage will involve a competency-based task that we will ensure you have plenty of time to prepare.
