We are currently seeking a dedicated, career-driven Event Manager/Scheduler to join our talented management team in delivering extraordinary experiences to our members.

Position Summary:

At the Duquesne Club, you will work alongside a passionate team of professionals. This position acts as the scheduler for the banquet department. Assisting the banquet team in maintaining the high standards of service of the Club. Manage and trains staff in a variety of food & beverage roles. One will build a rapport with the staff, assisting them and encouraging positivity throughout the day. One will also assist the Club in attracting new staff and the retention of existing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

The Event Manager/Scheduler would be responsible for supervising and executing banquet functions according to specifications in regard to Club standards as well as special needs and member requests. One would work closely with managers in the food & beverage department as well as other departments in the Club, i.e., Kitchen, Front Desk, Housekeeping, etc.

Manager would schedule staff and strategize best area of placement on a daily basis. Responsible for overseeing various staff members and ensuring Club policies and procedures are followed. One would assist in the recruitment and training of new employees.

Weekly schedules would fluctuate between AM/PM shifts and working weekends according to business needs. Also, one may assist in other areas of catering and the club—out parties, beverage outlets, a la carte dining rooms, etc.

Candidate should be detailed oriented and must be able to build relationships and develop a great rapport with the employees. Knowledgeable in scheduling staff for all events, including pop up functions. Familiar and able to train staff on fine dining service in a banquet event setting. One should be familiar with a union environment as guidelines need to be followed in the scheduling process.

Requirements:

Must fully understand the operation of Club dining rooms, proper service to be used for all occasions, and the duties of all employees within department. Knowledge of etiquette must be current and complete.

Self-motivated to ensure all tasks completed and ability to work unsupervised during shift.

Excellent coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to carry a tray elevated at shoulder level weighing an average of 35lbs. (to a maximum of 10 dinners). Ability to push/pull equipment as needed.

Physical ability to stand/walk for entire shift, as well as bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach, climb.

Ability to withstand various degrees of temperatures during shift.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally.

Ability to actively listen to others and respond verbally in a professional and effective manner.

Organizational skills with ability to understand the scheduling aspect of the job as well as contract binding agreement.

Ability to adhere to a strict time schedule to replace call-offs and to adjust schedule to accommodate changes.

Ability to learn Club rules regarding members and guest privileges while being courteous and tactful when enforcing them.

Sufficient memory retention to recall members & guests names and preferences.
