Are you a dynamic, high-energy professional with a passion for community engagement, marketing, and building relationships? The Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce (ESVA Chamber) is seeking an ambitious and innovative Director of Community Outreach to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the local business community through sponsorships, marketing, and events.

About the Role

The Director of Community Outreach reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for :

Sponsorship Acquisition : Identifying and securing sponsorships for Chamber events, including networking gatherings and signature programs. Developing strategies to attract new sponsors while retaining existing partnerships.

Advertising Sales : Selling advertising space for the Chambers Essentials Magazine and Business Directory. Creating tailored sales pitches and compelling presentations to meet advertiser needs.

Relationship Building : Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and stakeholders. Acting as a key liaison between the Chamber and the community to ensure initiatives are well-supported.

Event Participation and Support : Representing the Chamber at events to foster connections and support event planning and execution as needed.

Marketing and Membership : Overseeing membership engagement strategies, marketing initiatives, and communication efforts to ensure Chamber activities are visible and impactful.

Performance Tracking and Analysis : Monitoring sponsorship and advertising performance, analyzing trends, and adjusting strategies for growth.

Qualifications

Proven experience in sales, marketing, or a related field, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain relationships.

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Familiarity with the Eastern Shore of Virginia community and local businesses is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for supporting local businesses.
