Overview
The Lead Bartender at The Eddy Taproom & Hotel creates an excellent guest experience that exceeds expectations by preparing and serving classic and innovative beverages, while also providing oversight of other Bartenders during their shift. The Bartender assesses guest needs, preferences, makes recommendations, and takes orders. Knowledge of mixology is crucial to mix ingredients for alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages, and the Bartender can present them professionally. The Bartender will also perform cashiering duties and ensure only guests 21 years old and over are served alcohol. Moreover, the Bartender must create a warm, welcoming environment for guests, and ensure each beverage is crafted with care.
Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation and Service:
- Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers.
- Craft drinks according to established recipes and accommodate specific customer preferences.
- Conducting prep work to ensure all batched cocktails and Non-alcoholic batch pars are met
Customer Interaction:
- Promptly take customer orders and process payments with accuracy.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Verify the legal drinking age by checking identification.
- Monitor customer behavior to prevent overconsumption and underage drinking, intervening when necessary.
Bar Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area and basement storage area.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.
-Enforcing high standards of all quality of all Bar beverages
Inventory and Supplies:
- Assist in managing inventory and restocking bar supplies to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Oversee inventory control to prevent shortages and overstocking. Report orders to Taproom Manager for fulfillment.
- Communicate and report any needs for the bar area (tools, repairs, glassware)
- Ensure prep of syrups, infusions, etc. is being completed weekly and delegating those tasks when necessary
Menu Development:
- Collaborate on creating and updating drink menus to offer fresh and appealing options to customers.
- Responsible for maintaining the bartender training guides with new cocktail recipes, photos, etc.
Operational Support:
- Coordinate scheduling services to ensure adequate staffing and smooth bar operations.
- Assist in managing and operating point-of-sale systems for efficient and accurate transactions.
- Successfully train bartenders on The Eddy Taproom cocktails.
- Address any issues with guests or team members with management and People Services.
Qualifications
- TIPS Certified
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate bill calculation, cash handling, and making change
- Familiarity with various types of alcoholic beverages
- Proficiency in operating point-of-sale systems is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and team members
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Complete knowledge of mixology; and have a minimum of 4 years' experience with craft cocktails
Pay Rate: $15.00-$16.00hr
