JOB DESCRIPTION: The Education Partnership (TEP) provides school supplies for students and their teachers in low-income schools in Southwestern PA. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers embody the organization's core values (equity, integrity, resourcefulness, respect, and service) and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative office and warehouse space with a clear focus on helping kids in need.
The Advancement Manager, a key member of the Advancement Team, supports the Advancement Director in fundraising, donor engagement, event planning, marketing, and grants management. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills to drive donor engagement, secure sponsorships, and obtain individual gifts and grants, ensuring TEP meets its annual revenue goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising & Donor Engagement (50%)
- Evaluate and execute TEP’s donor engagement strategy to strengthen partnerships, increase revenue, and build donor pipelines.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit new gifts and sponsorships ($5K-$100K) from corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer and Operations teams to create meaningful volunteer-to-donor conversion strategies.
- Lead solicitation for Adopt-A-School sponsorships, EITC, and grants under $50K.
- Collaborate with the Advancement Team to manage donor stewardship for gifts under $500.
- Oversee donor recognition, impact reports, and relationship-building strategies.
- Oversee accurate donor records and tracking in Salesforce.
- Develop and execute multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, social media, and in-person events).
- Analyze donor reports to prioritize prospects and assess campaign effectiveness.
Grants & Institutional Giving (15%)
- Research and identify new foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities.
- Manage a grant portfolio of approximately 10-15 corporate and private foundations.
- Write and submit grant proposals and reports ($10K- $100K) to secure at least $250K new annual revenue.
- Track grant deadlines and collaborate with Program and Operation for compliance.
Event Planning & Sponsorships (15%)
- Plan and execute fundraising and donor engagement events.
- Secure and manage event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and community engagement partnerships.
Marketing, Communications & Digital Engagement (10%)
- Lead Marketing & Fundraising Committee meetings, agendas, and strategy discussions.
- Oversee content strategy for donor-facing communications (e-newsletters, Social media campaigns, website updates, marketing materials, and sponsorship packets.
- Align campaign and appeal messaging and timing with fundraising goals.
- Oversee School Supply Drive outreach and community engagement initiatives.
- Assist in designing and maintaining engaging marketing collateral.
Team Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)
- Supervise Advancement Coordinator and Associate, ensuring clear goals and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the Executive and Advancement Directors to coordinate fundraising strategies, events, and internal donor engagement.
- Represent TEP at programmatic events, community events, networking functions, and conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
- Proven fundraising, campaign management, donor cultivation, and secured gifts experience.
- Proven experience leading fundraising teams and managing staff.
- Strong relationship-building skills (corporate sponsors, foundations, individual donors).
- Skilled in event planning, sponsorships, and campaign execution.
- Excellent written communication skills (grant writing, donor letters, marketing materials).
- Strong analytical skills for donor segmentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines.
- Proficient in Salesforce (or other CRMs), Google Suite, and social media platforms.
- Experience managing EITC gifts, corporate partnerships, or major gifts.
- Familiarity with fundraising regulations, donor databases, and grant compliance.
- Mission-driven, adaptable professional for our fast-paced nonprofit environment.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs., stand, sit, and bend frequently.
- Occasional evening and weekend commitments for events and donor meetings.
- Valid PA Drivers License required.
- Regional travel for donor visits, meetings, and community engagement is required.
- The following PA clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required at the beginning of employment and as a condition of continued employment:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Annual salary range of $55K-$62K will commensurate with applicant’s education level, experience and other attributes.
