JOB SUMMARY
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE!
Has the overall responsibility for educating students, assessing their didactic knowledge and clinical skills to become homecare workers. Gives classroom instruction, skilled laboratory teaching and clinical assessment of the students enrolled in the HHA (home health aide) training program. Gives direct care teaches and supervises others, is responsible for assessing patient needs and for planning patient care.
Essential job functions and responsibilities
Teaches didactic knowledge and skills as outlined by state approved curriculum.
Supervises and evaluates trainees’ clinical experiences within a skilled laboratory setting.
Develops additional training material as required by regulations and as needed for student knowledge.
Participates in the development and implementation of materials required for continuing education needs.
Administers and grades all testing materials as appropriate to the training program.
Assures that the students are competent in the required skills prior to placement in a patient’s home setting.
Participates in the assessment of student abilities in the home care setting during the supervised practical training.
Provides all trainees with the opportunity for one-to-one educational experiences to enhance their knowledge prior to a successful completion of supervised practical training.
Coordinates trainees’ required supervised practical experiences with all members of the agency’s staff.
Participates in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the training program.
Participates in the development of marketing materials for the recruitment of student trainees.
Cooperates with Clinical Supervisor and with patient / family.
Is self-reliant and plans appropriately.
Shows interest, asks questions and seeks information.
Adheres to company policies, rules and regulations.
Meet the training requirements in accordance with State and Federal laws.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Is a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and has an RN License-required.
Is licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse in the state-required.
Has two (2) years of nursing experience-required.
Has at least (2) years of home health care experience-required.
Has knowledge of the NYS Department of Health Curriculum-required.
Has current licensure in State, CPR certification-required
