Job Summary:
The Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry and housekeeping areas, ensuring that linens and personal items are laundered to the highest standards for our assisted living residents. This position also includes general housekeeping duties to ensure that all resident rooms and public areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laundry Duties:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold linens, towels, and personal clothing items.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Track inventory of laundry supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
- Housekeeping Duties:
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to established standards.
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels.
- Dust, vacuum, and mop floors, and clean windows and mirrors.
- Replenish supplies such as toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in laundry and housekeeping is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an assisted living community.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment and understand the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment.
- Work may involve weekends and holidays.
