What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garde Manger / Pantry Chef position at The Elm City Club?
We are looking for a professional Garde Manger to prepare cold displays, & menu items to the exact chef’s specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Some breakfast line cook experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Cold Food Displays
- Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report, and follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up the station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements
- Proven experience, including setting up food displays for buffets and garnishing
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience
We will only review candidates who have experience as a Garde Manger or Fine Dining. No fast food candidates will be considered.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
