Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the PHP milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills groups, self-monitoring and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance

Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift

  • 4 days a week (7:00 am-5:00 pm)
  • Every other Saturday included in 4-day rotation

How Behavioral Health Specialists Empower Recovery

  • Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups, self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement
  • Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment
  • Provide resident support and in-the-moment skills coaching
  • Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, supervision, and/or case consultation meetings and seeks supervision when needed
  • Completes clinical documentation in compliance with The Emily Program and Veritas policies and regulatory standard

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mental health-related field required. If degree is not in a mental health-related field, a degree in another field and equivalent experience required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
  • Previous direct mental health experience preferred
