Position Description
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot machines and improve systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair preventative and corrective maintenance on plant and support equipment, including:
- Scales, Dumpers, Mixers, Cookers, Chillers, Slicers, Packaging Machines, Conveyors, Palletizers, and Pallet Wrappers.
- Repair, modify, and improve facility and production equipment using precision techniques.
- Develop comprehension and troubleshooting skills for:
- PLC-controlled equipment, motor control systems, servo motors, 3-phase electrical systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gear reducers, chain/belt drives, conveyors, and pumps.
- Perform mathematical calculations necessary for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Provide corrective actions to system failures using root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
- Fabricate and weld various types of metals (preferred).
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to execute and follow up on maintenance activities.
- Follow safety policies, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), Arc-Flash, hot work permits, and confined space entry.
- Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors and Planners to identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, positive morale, and exceptional customer service.
- Work off-shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed to support operational needs.
- Maintain a basic understanding of OSHA regulations to ensure compliance.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move up to 40 lbs.
- Work in wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
- Spend long periods walking or standing on hard floors (8–12-hour shifts).
- Work in refrigerated areas with ambient temperatures of 40°F.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on electrical/motors.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled systems, electrical components, mechanical systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of motor control systems, gear reducers, chain drives, and vacuum pumps.
- Preferred:
- Fabrication and welding experience.
- Familiarity with Lean principles and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules and adhere to company safety standards.
