Job Title: Storeroom Representative I

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hr (Direct Hire - Salaried)
Job Description:
Join our exciting and dedicated team as a Storeroom Representative I with VSS. This position, typically based at a customer location, involves providing exceptional service by purchasing products, goods, and materials that meet the organization’s standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. This role also includes inventory management, employee assistance, and equipment maintenance to support smooth operations.
This role features 12-hour rotating shifts (6 AM - 6 PM or 6 PM - 6 AM) with some built-in overtime. The schedule includes both day and night shifts (A-Shift schedule attached).
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Maintain a stocked storeroom with essential items (e.g., cleaning supplies, respirators, calibration gases).
- Employee Assistance: Assist employees in checking in and out inventory.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform monthly calibrations and sensor changes on gas monitors.
- Record Keeping: Ensure accurate record-keeping of calibrations, repairs, PPE usage, and procurement activities.
- Procurement Activities:
- Perform procurement to meet current and future demands for stock/non-stock products.
- Place purchase requisitions and vendor orders.
- Evaluate and recommend vendors or items to meet quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
- Monitor product quality and timeliness, coordinating the return or replacement of items if necessary.
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues with vendors.
- Document cost-saving opportunities for the customer.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain a professional, clean work environment.
- Customer and Vendor Relations:
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and assigned customers.
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues regarding product quality, order status, and account payables nonconformance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must Haves/Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2-3 years in customer service.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in procurement, inventory management, and document handling.
- Ability to load and manage storeroom items efficiently.
