We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Lewiston, ID. The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role as a member of the sterile team, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of surgical procedures. This position involves preparing the operating room, managing sterile supplies, and providing critical assistance during surgeries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in maintaining aseptic techniques, anticipating surgical needs, and fostering a safe and effective surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Function as an integral member of the sterile team.
Assist in preparing the operating room by organizing supplies, performing surgical scrubs, setting up back tables, and arranging instruments and equipment.
Aid in draping patients and establishing a sterile field for procedures.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary items promptly.
Maintain a sterile environment using scrupulous aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
Conduct needle and sponge counts in coordination with the circulating nurse.
Participate in the on-call rotation with other surgical staff members to provide 24 / 7 surgical support.
Must-Haves / Requirements Summary :
Education : Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
Certification : Surgical Technician Certification (CST) is preferred upon hire and required within six months of employment.
Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of acute care hospital-based operating room experience.
Specialties : At least 2-3 years of experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, Spine, and Robotics.
Knowledge : Proficient in principles and procedures related to surgery.
Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills : Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work effectively under pressure.
