Summary
As a Residential Caregiver (also known as a Sponsor) with The Empowerment Network, LLC, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual full time in your home or theirs, providing a nurturing environment where your contributions will directly impact the well-being of the individual you support.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and support to an individual diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability who may also have behavioral or mental health needs.
- Assist individual with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Develop trusting relationships with the individual in your care to foster a supportive environment.
- Collaborate with service providers to implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor the individuals' progress and report any changes in behavior or condition to the disability service coordinator.
- Educate individual on coping strategies and life skills to enhance their independence.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and care provided.
Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving or related fields, particularly in special education, behavioral or mental health settings.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of disability rights and ethical caregiving practices.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning about intellectual and developmental disabilities.
