Description

Performs routing and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on BCEMS buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Performs minor tasks and reports the need for major repairs to all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under a general contractor.)
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc; repairs or replaces broken parts.
• Replaces broken windows, repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinks if needed.
• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• May operate a computer that controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Assists with renovating/remodeling a building; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Performs custodial duties weekly as assigned.
• May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, and order parts as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
