Position Overview:
They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join their Brooklyn office. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, payments, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and audits as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline financial processes.
- Handle confidential financial information with integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
