Endocrinology Practice Receptionist
A well-established endocrinology practice in Falls Church/Arlington is seeking a capable and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include greeting and checking in/out patients, collecting patient co-payments, processing required paperwork, and scheduling appointments. Furthermore, you will be assigned to a specific provider to manage their schedule, ensuring it remains current and fully utilized. Additional responsibilities include maintaining our electronic health records, upholding organization in work areas, and cultivating a welcoming environment for our valued patients.
Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities
*Warmly greet patients upon arrival, ascertain their needs, and guide them to the appropriate area within the facility.
*Efficiently collect patient contact information, verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and process new patient paperwork.
*Answer and manage incoming telephone calls, promptly redirecting them to the appropriate staff member and responding to voicemail messages in a timely manner.
*Skillfully manage provider waitlists, optimize schedule openings, and maintain office inventory.
*Provide support to physicians by assisting with patient correspondence, including emails and inboxes.
*Ensure a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff.
*Diligently maintain the medical records database to ensure patient information is current and accurate, and promptly fulfill medical document requests via fax.
*Undertake additional administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
*Prior experience in medical assisting or administration.
*Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.
*Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain a welcoming and professional environment.
*Proven experience in answering and screening incoming calls, as well as scheduling appointments.
*Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively based on individual needs.
*Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with administration and staff.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Multilingual is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 per week
