Lead Technician Job Overview

Lead Technicians may work alone to start, complete, or assist in the completion of all manner of low voltage and AV installations in both residential and commercial environments. Lead technicians are familiar with AV solutions, camera systems, security systems, access control, lighting control, and home automation. Lead technicians are fully capable of working independently as well as directing other technicians. Lead technicians have thorough knowledge of current hardware and must be willing to stay up to date with new iterations of hardware and software. Lead technicians are self-motivated, with strong communication skills, and they will operate in an efficient and organized manner to ensure the delivery of fully functional and sophisticated low voltage solutions. Lead technicians set the tempo and sequence of work for other service technicians.

• Complete sophisticated low voltage installations and configurations * Evaluate ongoing projects for punch list items

• Install and configure network and data systems * Install control systems (AV/lighting/shade/access)

• Thorough understanding of multi room systems and solutions

• Directs other technicians

• Capable of installing and configuring low voltage lighting solutions

• Capable of installing and configuring low voltage shade systems

• Capable of installing and documenting basic and advanced security systems.

• Capable of installing and configuring basic and advanced surveillance systems

• Capable of installing and configuring basic and advanced network equipment

• Capable of programming a single room application in at least one control language (i.e. Control4)

• Identifies and conveys all appropriate details to ensure effective project management.

• Effortlessly moves between independent and collaborative contribution to both designs and installations

• Effortlessly moves between leading and team member as duties demand.
