Position Overview:
Our client, a leading real estate firm, is seeking a highly motivated Asset Management Analyst to join their team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the asset management activities for a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate assets. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in real estate investment or asset management, with a strong analytical background, attention to detail, and a passion for real estate investment strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of detailed financial models, including operating budgets, projections, and variance analyses.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual asset performance reports for senior leadership and investors.
- Monitor and assess asset performance against budget, market conditions, and strategic objectives.
- Assist in conducting asset valuations and investment returns calculations.
- Assist in the implementation of asset management strategies for individual properties within the portfolio.
- Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure assets are managed in alignment with the firm’s investment objectives.
- Support the due diligence process for potential acquisitions by preparing financial models, conducting market research, and performing asset-level analyses.
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure smooth operations, including budgeting, reporting, capital expenditures, and lease administration.
- Support the management of third-party service providers.
- Assist in the preparation of investor presentations and reports.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to provide timely updates on asset performance and project status.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in real estate asset management, private equity, or investment banking, with a focus on real estate. Prior exposure to commercial or residential real estate is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build and analyze complex financial models. Familiarity with real estate software (e.g., Argus, Yardi) and PowerPoint is a plus.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for reporting and presenting findings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to private equity real estate transactions and portfolio management.
- Basic knowledge of real estate financial metrics such as IRR, NOI, cap rates, and cash-on-cash returns.
