Company Overview:
Our client, private equity-backed pet services, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven VP of Mergers & Acquisitions to join their team. This individual will be responsible for leading the sourcing, execution, and integration of strategic acquisitions to fuel the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full M&A lifecycle, including strategy development, target identification, due diligence, negotiation, and post-merger integration for acquisitions within the pet services sector.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and private equity partners to develop and execute the company’s M&A strategy.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, investment banks, and legal counsel to support M&A activities.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including valuations, modeling, and financial due diligence, to assess potential acquisitions.
- Identify market trends and evaluate competitive landscape to uncover acquisition opportunities that align with company growth objectives.
- Lead negotiations on deal structures, terms, and pricing to ensure favorable outcomes.
- Oversee integration efforts post-acquisition to ensure smooth transitions and realization of synergies.
- Report on M&A activity and deal progress to the board, PE investors, and key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing M&A team to support ongoing and future acquisition initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, with a strong track record of executing acquisitions in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes.
- Experience in the pet services or consumer services sector is preferred, but not required.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
- High level of energy, initiative, and a growth-oriented mindset.
