Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Trading Operations Associate to join their team. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day operational activities of the firm, ensuring efficient trade processing, data integrity, and client reporting. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in investment operations or financial services and a strong desire to grow within the asset management industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile and ensure the timely and accurate settlement of equity, fixed income, and derivatives trades across various accounts and platforms.
- Collaborate with traders, custodians, and counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies and settlement issues.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations across portfolios to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor cash flows, funding requirements, and overdraft risks for managed accounts.
- Maintain and update portfolio data, including security master files, pricing, and corporate actions.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across internal systems and external reporting.
- Support the preparation and delivery of periodic client reports, including portfolio performance, holdings, and transaction summaries.
- Assist in responding to client and auditor requests for data and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows, leveraging automation and technology where possible.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for key operational processes.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal compliance policies.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing required documentation and reports.
Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of experience in investment operations, middle office, or a similar role in asset management, investment banking, or financial services.
- Familiarity with fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas.
- Exposure to financial systems such as Bloomberg, Aladdin, Charles River, Eagle, or SimCorp is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, VBA, or other programming languages is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
