Maintenance Machinist

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Machine and precision grind pieces and parts, as requested by the supervisor, to tolerances within .0001” when required.

• Required to read complicated blueprints from which to grind and make all tooling necessary for transfer to work.

• Must maintain stocks of materials required and report shortages of same to the supervisor.

• Responsible for keeping the machines, tooling, and work area(s) clean and returning parts and equipment to designated storage areas.

• Required to complete forms and reports as directed by the supervisor.

• Assist other Company maintenance personnel if a special need arises in electrical or mechanical maintenance work.

• Ability to read and write and to make use of complicated drawings and specifications.

• Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments as required

• Ability to independently plan and perform very involved, complex work and to devise new methods to meet new conditions which necessitate a high degree of ingenuity, initiative and judgment.

• Must be able to single point threads (metric and standard) on lathes.

• Must be able to use 4 jaw chuck on a lathe.

• Ability to machine plastics (UHMW; Delrin; Nyloil) on a lathe or milling machine.

• Ability to work with Garrolite or Phenolic materials.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

• High School Diploma or GED

• Five (5) or more years of experience covering the requirements of the primary responsibility.

• Successful candidates will need to complete a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and work tolerance screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.

• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, push, pull, bend and walk up and down steps for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity to operate machinery/equipment.

• Visual acuity to operate and/or inspect products and machinery/equipment.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment (hot and cold conditions).

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.

• Must adhere to all site policies and safety standards.

Pay Range:

Salary : $53,618 - $62,341
