The Event Staff members play a crucial role in bringing events at The Essence Event Center to life. Event Staff days consist of preparing The Essence Event Center to be ready for each individual event. Event Staff members are familiar with the event schedule, and complete prep work in time for the event kickoff. Event Staff members are essential to keeping the event flowing smoothly.
General Work Hours: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm or 3:00 pm - 1:00 am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, though time may vary. Some weekday work may be available.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up tables, chairs, and linens according to floorplans and Venue Manager direction.
- Folding linens as needed
- Preparing glassware for events
- "Flip" rooms from one set up to another as needed during an event, under direction of Event Staff Lead, or Assistant Venue Manager
- Collecting glassware, removing trash, and mopping up spills during events
- Occasionally preparing the main bar, and/or satellite bar for service
- Maintain overall building cleanliness during events
- Complete building cleanup after events
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Capable of lifting 25 lbs
- Responsible and on time
- Coordinated
- Positive, cheerful attitude
- Willing to work in a team setting
- Able to be independent and complete tasks on your own
Pay: $15/hour.
