We are currently hiring for PRN Physical Therapist.
Essential Functions
- Evaluate Part A patients within 24 hours of the physician referral and Part B/other payor types within 48 hours.
- Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval for services from referring physicians.
- Supervise physical therapy assistants in direct patient care and patient related activities. Supervision of PTAs includes a minimum of one time per week co-treatment for each patient assigned to the PTA. All progress notes written by a PTA must be cosigned by the supervising PT.
- Treat patients according to a treatment plan developed by or approved by the attending physician.
- Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and weekly rehabilitation meetings.
- Participate in inservice training programs for other staff in the facility.
- Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate, and professional guidelines.
- Record daily treatment charges per facility policy.
- Instruct families and nursing staff in maintenance programs.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Secure necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate independence.
- Report any problems with department equipment and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate independence.
- Record treatments given and progress notes in medical record. All progress notes must be co-signed by supervising physical therapist at least weekly.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area and department.
- Participate in quality assurance program as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.
- Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
- Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
- Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S
Pay: $33.00 per hour
