Position Summary :
The Manager, R&D Finance will play a key role in managing the financial operations for Global R&D, Packaging, and Corporate Innovation. This role involves overseeing the planning and analysis of operating budgets and capital expenditures and providing detailed analytics to support strategic initiatives. The Manager, R&D Finance will work closely with brand teams and functional leaders to ensure effective allocation of shared services and resources. Responsibilities include preparing budgets and forecasts, conducting spend analysis, managing capital investments, and tracking headcount. The ideal candidate will be adept at juggling multiple priorities, demonstrating strong financial acumen and communication skills, and providing valuable ad-hoc analysis.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the development and management of operating budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the leadership team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Calculate and communicate allocation charges to brands, ensuring clear visibility into resource distribution and man-hours.
Analyze and report on financial variances, identifying key drivers and recommending actions to address discrepancies.
Prepare and present monthly cost center reports, highlighting significant financial trends and insights.
Manage capital spending and oversee capital projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Lead the month-end closing process, including the preparation and review of journal entries to ensure accuracy.
Monitor the use of purchase orders and approve SRM shopping carts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
Partner with HR to track headcount, understand the impact of open positions, and manage staffing-related financial aspects.
Provide monthly reports on product testing activities to R&D management and brands, highlighting financial implications and progress.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of relevant experience in financial management or analysis.
Solid understanding of budget preparation and forecasting processes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
Capable of working effectively under tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate financial concepts and objectives clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Proficient in Excel, with a good grasp of data management and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, CPM).
Familiarity with analytic software (e.g., Tableau, ClickView) is a plus
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $139,600. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
