Preferred Qualifications:

5 years’ experience with the following:

LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION (SUSE, REDHAT, CENTOS,UBUNTU)

SCRIPTING (BASH)

CONFIGURATION AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT (ANSIBLE)

• Linux System Administration: In-depth knowledge of Linux distributions - Familiarity with major Linux distributions like Red Hat, SUSE, CentOS, and Ubuntu. Shell scripting, Strong skills in scripting (Bash, Python, Perl) to automate system management tasks (e.g., provisioning, monitoring, backups).
• System monitoring and troubleshooting - Ability to monitor Linux systems for performance, security, and errors, using tools like top, htop, ps, sysstat, dstat, sar, vmstat, and iostat.
• Security management - Understanding of Linux security mechanisms, such as SE Linux, firewalls (iptables/ufw), access control, auditing, and encryption techniques
• Package management - Expertise in managing software packages using tools like yum, dnf, apt, zypper, or rpm.
• Log management - Proficiency in analyzing system logs (e.g.,/var/log/messages, syslog, dmesg) and using centralized log management tools like ELK Stack or Splunk.
• Backup and recovery - Familiarity with Linux backup tools such asr sync, tar, dd, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Disk and filesystem management - Proficient in managing disk partitions, LVM, RAID configurations, and filesystems (ext4, XFS, Btrfs).
• Performance tuning - Experience optimizing Linux system performance for CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network performance.
• Automation & Configuration Management - Configuration management tools : Knowledge of tools like Ansible,Puppet, or Chef for automating system configuration and deployment of software across multiple Linux VMs.
• Orchestration tools - Familiarity with orchestration and containerization tools like Kubernetes or Docker for managing containerized applications alongside VMs.
• Monitoring and Incident Response - Monitoring solutions: Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana to monitor the health and performance of Linux systems and VMs.
• Incident response - Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and respond to incidents related to virtual machine performance, networking, and storage.
• System Integration & Advanced Troubleshooting - Multi-tier system integration: Experience working in environments with multi-tier applications and integrations between physical servers, VMs, and cloud environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting - Strong analytical skills for diagnosing performance issues, network problems, or storage bottlenecks, both at the VM level and infrastructure level.
• Documentation & Reporting - Documentation: Ability to document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures clearly and comprehensively.
• Reporting and audit logs - Proficiency in creating detailed reports for performance, security audits, and compliance requirements.
  
  

Salary Minimum

$71,355.00

Major Duties

Serves as 3rd level support for Wintel and Linux systems, store support infrastructure, system issues and tasks.

Develops scripts to automate performance management.

Monitors and manages the store support infrastructure.

Leads major projects and coordinates effectively between divisions and business units.

Leads in research evaluation of new technologies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Challenges

24x7 work environment supporting Exchange operations, which requires either shift work, on call, and/or after hours project work and may include holidays, and weekends
