We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Project Management Coordinator Intern to join the Member Services team in our Washington, DC office. for Summer of 2025. The internship requires the available to work up to 40 hours per week, at minimum 32 hours per week during the summer with 5 hours per week devoted to professional development with opportunities for Shadowing, mentoring, and training with successful professionals. The internship will commence on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 and runs until Friday, August 15th, 2025. This position will report to the VP of Member Services. This is a hybrid role requiring you to come into the DC office at least 2 days per week.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN | POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Management Internship program combines hands-on mentorship, professional development, and real-world projects to help launch a career and gain professional experience as a Project Management professional. The Project Management Intern will assist the ELC Member Services Department in developing, coordinating, and executing high-impact events and member initiatives. Our Project Management internship program will be a 10-week where they will receive full-time on the job education that will prepare them for On-the-Job Training (OJT). The intern will play a key role in organizing logistics, preparing materials, managing communications, and supporting community-building efforts across platforms like MyELC. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn essential in project management.
WHAT YOU WILL DO | ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES
Our interns are encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the table and are quickly entrusted with foundational responsibilities:
Event Planning & Program Development
- Assist with coordination of CBN and Board Director summit events (registration, sites, speaker research, program materials)
- Support planning and logistics form the October CBN Program and BDS 2025
- Support with coordination of CBN virtual programming in July and August
- Help manage follow-up to committee members and speakers
Project Coordination & Management
- Assist in creating templates and resources for "Event in a Box" planning kits
- Organize project plans and tasks in Asana or equivalent tools
- Support updates to the Member Services playbook
- Assist the department head and project managers in organizing and coordinating various events and programs.
- Collaborate with the team to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Track project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and status reports.
- Support the coordination of various programs aimed at engaging professionals
- Assist in developing program schedules, coordinating activities, and securing necessary resources.
- Communicate with program participants, ensuring they have the required information and materials.
- Monitor program progress, collect feedback, and assist in evaluating program effectiveness.
- Produce deliverables (e.g., slide decks, reports, spreadsheets, marketing materials, etc.)
- Create and execute project proposals and plans in a timely manner.
- Participate in project team meetings and provide status updates, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the team on various projects related to data.
- Track project progress, milestones, risks, and issues.
Community Platform (MyELC) Strategy
- Help develop a content calendar and strategy for weekly posts
- Monitor and encourage member interaction (spotlights, polls, events, etc.)
- Propose and help launch industry - or function based communities
Member Engagement & Outreach
- Support research for outreach to specific member segments (entrepreneurs, new members, in-transition professionals)
- Assist with regional analysis to help plan future member meet-ups
- Draft and execute communications for outreach and program promotion
General Duties
- Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, demonstrating a flexible approach with short deadlines.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality improvement.

- Support a seamless information sharing workflow within the IT department and the overall organization.

WHO ARE YOU | EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS
- Must be a Undergraduate or Graduate student enrolled in an accredited College or University at either a rising Junior, Senior or recent graduate with a GPA of 3.00 or above. The student should be pursuing/have pursued a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Event Management, or a relevant academic field.
- Must be available to work on-site at our downtown D.C. office 2x per week at minimum.
- Passionate about project management, leadership development, and organizational growth.
- Previous experience in event coordination preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working on team-based projects preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Trello, or similar).
- Advanced computer skills in Adobe, Google Workspace, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating resources and ensuring scheduled goals are met.
- Ability to effectively interact with various levels of management is necessary.
- Ability to demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, and discretion, and sensitivity in handling confidential and highly sensitive information.

WORKING CONDITIONS
