What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Coach / Personal Trainer position at The Exercise Coach - Washington, DC?
You do not need coaching experience so long as you have a passion for fitness and people!
What do we bring?
- Leading-edge strength-training technology that you can only find at Exercise Coach studios
- 20-minute workouts so the clients generally have a great attitude; they figure they can do anything for 20 minutes
- The opportunity to truly change lives
- We train you, so minimal experience needed
- We pay by the hour so you're paid whether or not you're coaching
- Not having to approach members to sell your own services
- No cold-calling! We only respond to folks who reach out to us.
- Working youself and your partner out for free on the super-cool machines
- A lovely, sun-filled clean studio and a friendly supportive team
- Every effort to give team members time off when they need it
- Working for one of the fastest-growing training brands in the country.
What do you bring?
- A passion for fitness and helping others
- A great attitude and great communication skills; the clients definitely come for the coaches as well as the workouts
- Being a quick learner since we all do everything - coach, front-desk and sales (more on that further down) - whatever's needed during a shift.
- Comfort with learning and using new systems for our prospect and client management, scheduling and retailing
- At least one year of college or trade school.
- Proximity to Cleveland Park. You'll need to metro, walk or bike since there's no parking available for more than 2 hours. The red line Cleveland Park metro stop is at the top of our block.
Bonus points for:
- A customer service background
- A degree or certificate in health, anatomy, personal training and/or nutrition.
- A current CPR/AED certificate
What shifts we're looking for:
- We have a couple of coaches graduating and moving onto their new careers over the next couple of months, so we have a number of shifts opening up. We definitely need Wednesday 1pm to 8pm and Saturday 8am-1pm and we'll see how we can configure the rest of the shifts to make things work out for all!
A few more details:
- Each coach works with just one person at a time, or a small group of 2-4 people, guiding and motivating them as well as keeping sharp eyes for form, challenges, adaptations and safety. The equipment allows you to deliver hyper-personalized, safe and efficient workouts - and keeps track of their progress over time, which they love and which constantly pushes them.
- Sales can actually be fun since they're done during scheduled consulations, we're not pushy and you're genuinely teaching people new information, thanks to the new technology. Plus, the equipment pretty much sells itself.
- You can train your significant other for free.
- Please check us out at https://exercisecoach.com/ to make sure this is the right fit for you! We and our clients think it's awesome, but it's not the usual personal training gig.
- Fox news did a bit on us when we first opened: https://www.fox5dc.com/video/1028620.
