Job Description
The Part-Time Director of Development will join our dynamic development team, focusing specifically on cultivating and growing donor relationships throughout Colorado and beyond. Working collaboratively with the development team, this position will manage a portfolio of key regional donors while implementing strategies to expand TER's presence in the Colorado community. This role requires someone who is highly relational and can effectively tell the story of TER's impact while inspiring generous partnership.
Job Responsibilities:
● Manage and grow a portfolio of Colorado-based donors with clear revenue goals
● Build and sustain meaningful relationships with regional donors and prospects
● Execute strategic donor stewardship plans for assigned portfolio
● Participate in donor meetings and cultivation events in the Colorado region
● Utilize our donor management system (Virtuous) to track activities and outcomes
● Collaborate with the development team on regional fundraising strategies
● Represent TER at local networking and community events
● Support the planning and execution of regional donor events
● Identify and qualify new donor prospects in the Colorado region
● Provide regular updates on portfolio progress and regional development opportunities
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
● 8 years experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations
● Proven track record in donor cultivation and fundraising
● Bachelor's Degree required
● Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills
● Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
● Experience with donor management systems (Virtuous experience a plus)
● Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Professional demeanor and confidentiality
● Passion for fighting human trafficking and alignment with TER's mission
● Knowledge of the Colorado philanthropic community preferred

Additional Information
What Does Success Look Like?:
● 1st 90-Days: Complete onboarding and training, understand organizational messaging, establish relationships with assigned donor portfolio, and begin implementing regional development strategy.
● 6-Month Mark: Meeting quarterly fundraising goals, showing steady growth in donor engagement, and contributing meaningfully to team strategy.
● End of 1st Year: Demonstrated success in donor retention and growth within assigned portfolio, established presence in Colorado donor community, and achievement of annual fundraising goals.
