What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Call Center Specialist position at The Eye Care Group PC?
It all begins at the Call Center! Vibrant, smart, multitasker sought, with background in phone service in a doctor's office making appointments, transferring calls, triage, and servicing patients. The Eye Care Group is actively recruiting for a Patient Access Representative in their Call Center. This is a front-line, customer-service oriented position, and all applicants should be capable of maintaining a professional and positive attitude; while promoting a positive customer / patient experience.
Our Call Center answers and routes all incoming calls as well as makes patient appointments and answers questions appropriately or transfers calls for specific inquiries:
- Display's positive voice qualities, communicates to our patients in a courteous and professional manner, follows guidelines for transfers, follow department standards for utilizing appropriate telephone etiquette at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and hospital information. Performs all tasks with attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness. Utilizes all tools and resources effectively and efficiently to service the needs of our customers.
- You must be “fast on your feet”, and highly organized to maintain the balance of friendly discourse and getting the job done, off the phone to the next call.
- Maintains attendance in accordance with standards. This is a “patient specific” position therefore preference will be given to applicants who have flexible availability and can best support the needs of the practice
Performs other duties as assigned by department management, for example; working on special projects, or assisting Front Desk, Medical Records when asked, and the like. Must have understanding of registration process for scheduling new patients.

Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- At least two years’ experience in a medical office
- Must have top-notch customer service skills that drive quality and provide an exceptional patient experience.
- Must have good working knowledge of health insurance.
- Ability to prioritize and follow established procedures and maintain a calm professional demeanor during busy periods and particularly in the event of an emergency.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail yet uses good judgment in seeking advice when necessary.
- Must be able to meet the scheduling requirements on an ongoing basis – the call center is open specific hours and we must have reliable coverage during those times.
- Computer literacy is vital to this role, as is aptitude to learn and adapt to new technological systems.

- We are looking for Bi Lingual representatives that are fluent in English and Spanish.
