What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Scheduling Assistant position at The Eye Care Group PC?
The Eye Care Group is seeking one full-time candidate to offer assistance to our surgical scheduling department in Orange, CT and Waterbury, CT. This is one position per applicant. You may work in either office and to help fill-in for Waterbury when needed for coverage of call outs and/or scheduled PTO. We are looking for a hard working team player who is interested in working in an environment with a supportive staff and management team, rave patient reviews, robust staff, appreciation activities and recognition and a group of amazing doctors. The Eye Care Group is seeking a candidate to offer assistance to our surgical scheduling department in Orange, CT (if willing to cover some days in WTBY that would be a plus). We are looking for an applicant who is excited about joining a skilled team. There is ample opportunity for advancement within the department and practice for those employees who demonstrate dedication, professionalism, reliability and exceptional skillset.
Expectation is that you are thoroughly familiar with the surgical scheduling process in working with patients, surgical suites, appropriate forms and paperwork for completion of the booking as well as information given to patients. Secretarial duties, faxing, scanning, calling on medical clearances etc.
Traveling may be required to Orange and Waterbury CT**

The hours are 8:15am-5pm M-F, 37.5hrs/wk

Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Proficiency with standard office equipment
Ability to learn new software and applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
