We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Patient Coordinator/Technician to join our optometry practice in Cresskill, New Jersey. This hybrid role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless patient experience, particularly for those undergoing dry eye treatments, while also supporting clinical operations as a technician to maintain efficient office flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Coordination:
- Patient Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients considering or undergoing dry eye treatments, ensuring they fully understand their treatment options, procedures, and associated pricing.
- Treatment Presentation: Discuss and present treatment plans to patients, addressing any questions or concerns to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Scheduling and Follow-up: Coordinate and schedule treatment sessions, and conduct follow-up communications to monitor patient progress and satisfaction.
Technical Support:
- Pre-Testing Procedures: Conduct preliminary eye assessments prior to the optometrist’s examination
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all clinical instruments and equipment are properly sanitized, maintained, and calibrated.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as an Optometric Technician or in a related field is recommended but not needed
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical or optometry setting is recommended but not needed or in high end sales
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic clinical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic office software.
