Responsibilities
- Assist in the fitting and adjustment of eyeglasses and contact lenses for patients.
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, including measuring visual acuity and taking vital signs.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical coding and billing information.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Operate optical equipment and systems efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service in a retail environment, assisting patients with inquiries and product selection.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Stay updated on advancements in optical technology and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optical setting or related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices is advantageous.
- Experience in retail management or retail skills is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations, including pediatrics and senior care patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a clinic environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
