What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at The Falcon?
The Falcon– a world-class music, art and dining venue in Marlboro, NY has a new and exciting open position full of possibility for an experienced chef who'd like to add their culinary voice to the ensemble of talents that make The Falcon one of the Hudson Valley's premier destinations for live music and art.
With concerts and events four nights a week (or more), The Falcon attracts a diverse roster of musical acts, all with it's unique donation-driven ethos. For over fifteen years in its current location, The Falcon has presented countless renowned musicians and bands of countless genres on its stage. Operating under the motto 'Support Living Artists', 100% of audience donations go directly to the performers, and the same model is used to showcase visual artists displayed on the club's gallery walls. On average, this space seats around 150 attendees, who drink and dine with us whilst attending concerts.
Below the main stage space, lies the Underground (or The Falcon Underground), initially conceived as a 'New York Beer Garden', the Underground has officially reopened in 2025 with weekend programming presenting local acts, performance art, and DJs. The Underground spills out onto decks that overlook the Marlboro Falls; and are a perfect place to sit with a locally brewed beer or cider in the warmer seasons. The space is outfitted with a (currently dormant) full kitchen with pizza capablity.
The ever expanding Hudson Valley community is continuing to discover all the magic that The Falcon has to offer, both in its presentation of art and music – and its functionality as a scenic and truly 'Local Hudson Valley' wedding venue.
We are looking for a talented and visionary culinary director or chef to join our team as we continue to build on the strong foundation The Falcon has established since it's humble beginnings as a house concert series in 2000. The food and beverage program at The Falcon has been ever evolving since our opening; and with that fluidity, this position offers an opportunity of culinary freedom to applicants with restaurant experience, creative vision and a commitment to quality ingredients. Also wanted are sous chefs, line cooks - or any other folks with specialized kitchen experiences looking for a new avenue.
