Grounds Crew Apprentice (Entry Level)

Job Summary:

The Grounds Crew Apprentice is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in golf course maintenance. Working as part of a 5-person Grounds Crew, Assistant Groundskeepers support daily operations, assist with course upkeep, and learn essential turf management skills under the guidance of experienced Crew Leaders and Groundskeepers. This role is ideal for college students, individuals new to the golf industry, or those interested in landscaping and turf management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with mowing greens, fairways, roughs, and tee boxes under supervision.
• Rake bunkers, edge cart paths, and help with general course cleanup and detailing.
• Support irrigation maintenance, including moving hoses and performing basic watering tasks.
• Learn to operate basic golf course equipment, such as push mowers and utility vehicles.
• Participate in landscaping projects, including sod work and minor repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures at all times.
• Work closely with Crew Leaders and Groundskeepers to develop a foundational understanding of golf course maintenance.

Qualifications:

• No prior experience required—training provided!
• Interest in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or turf management.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and early morning hours.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
