We are currently looking to add new members to our dynamic team for Direct Service Intern . The Student Interns will work within the agency's Foster Care and Specialty Mental Health programs. This internship is for students pursuing a degree to work in a social work or behavioral health setting. The intern will receive hands-on experience in a community-based setting providing direct for children/youth and families with severe emotional needs.

COMPENSATION
- Starting hourly rate: $21.00 per hour
- Non-Exempt classification per FLSA
- Mileage reimbursement $0.70 cents per mile

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. Preferred majors: Psychology, Child Development and Social Service
- Must be eligible for a 2-quarter internship overseen by their university. A 3-quarter commitment is preferred.
- 15-20 hours per week
- Required course completion prior to internship:
- Psychology students: Psych 323 (Helping Relationships)
- Child Development students: Psych 323 (Helping Relationships), CD 131 (Observation and Interaction with Children) and CD 230 (Preschool Lab)
- Be of good character and reputation, professional, communicate effectively, and able to follow agency policy & procedures
- Must be able to pass a background check, health/drug screening, and TB testing
- Must have a valid driver license, auto insurance and registration
- Eligibility for employment in the U.S. (I-9)
BASIC DUTIES AND SCHEDULE
- Participate in a 5–week in person training curriculum scheduled on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. –5:00 p.m.
- Participate in weekly in-person supervision
- Attend Direct Service meetings every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
- Available weekend and evenings to comply with internship requirements and available client needs.
- Must be available to work onsite at FCNI offices and/or client locations
- Utilize personal vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement
- Under the direct support of a clinical supervisor, students will gain professional development through client interactions, collaboration, documentation, training supervision. Therapeutic activities may include:
- Participation on a Child and Family Treatment teams
- Individual behavioral interventions guided by an approved client treatment plan
- Reinforcing and teaching daily living skills
- Client supervision and time structuring
- Support to and collaboration with client's caregivers/family members
