Position Summary:

The Career and Employment Specialist will deliver comprehensive employment counseling, career readiness training, and other services to a diverse group of adults students. This role is essential in supporting career development initiatives, fostering community relationships, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish, exhibit strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a client-centered approach.Key

Responsibilities:

Employment Counseling and Career Readiness:

- Conduct individual assessments to identify needs, set goals, and develop customized career plans.

- Provide career orientation, job placement assistance, and retention services.

- Facilitate workshops and training programs to enhance career readiness and development.

- Maintain comprehensive electronic case notes and track participant progress.

- Offer mentoring, coaching, and referrals for additional support services.

- Administer surveys and documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements every quater.

Student and Community Engagement:

- Develop and maintain a career resource center and provide individual/group advisement to students.

- Foster relationships with local employers and industry liaisons to create job opportunities and internships.

- Represent TFP at community events, strengthen partnerships, and stay informed about workforce needs and industry trends.Coordination and

Collaboration:

- Work closely with the Academic Team, Compliance Officer, and Director of Family Services to implement career development programs.

- Coordinate career guidance activities, mentoring programs, and networking events.

- Assist with administrative tasks, including event support and follow-up surveys.

Additional Duties:

- Provide reception and brief service support as needed.

- Support donation drives, community food distributions, and school activities when needed.

- Cover front desk and classroom duties during emergencies if required.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

- Proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills.

- Experience working with low-income families, students, or underserved populations.

- Proven ability to develop career programs, build community relationships, and provide effective case support.

- Experience in employment counseling, job development, and classroom facilitation is a plus.

- Familiarity with QuickBase, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.

Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
