Position Purpose
The CCFAP Eligibility Specialist is responsible for assessing eligibility and administering childcare subsidy under guidelines set up by Child Development Division, State of Vermont, for 22 towns in the Agency of Human Services Hartford District (southern Orange and northern Windsor counties). The CCFAP Eligibility Specialist is responsible for entering program data in the Agency database and program worksheet.
Key Accountabilities
Program Responsibilities
Child Care Financial Assistance Eligibility (75%)
- Provide information and eligibility determination for the Child Care Financial Assistance Program in a manner prescribed by the Child Development Division (CDD) contract.
- Inform and assist parents enrolled in the Child Care Financial Assistance using a strength-based model of intervention and support.
- Assist Child Care Providers: answering questions and referring to other assistance, as needed.
- Support families and providers by mediating disagreements and assisting with solutions.
- Provide CCFAP information to all human services agencies to optimize access to families.
Documentation (15%)
- Maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Maintain documentation as required by contracts or PCC which includes data entry in TFP database files, case notes and reports for funders.
- Support eligibility specialists with data entry in TFP databases.
Staff and Team Responsibilities (5%)
- Attend All-Staff meetings, CCFAP team meetings, and other meetings as requested.
- Represent agency in the community, and identifying community needs as they interface with the agency.
- Participate in fundraising, parent education and public awareness activities as workload permits.
Professional Development (5%)
- Attend agency training on equity and other topics related to TFP services and programs.
- Attend all CDD- CCFAP mandated meetings and trainings and all other trainings related to roles and responsibilities
- Review CCFAP training materials and policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Human Services related field preferred. Possible exceptions for candidates with extensive relevant experience in human services and/or customer service with Child Development Division approval.
- 2 years related experience in human services or equivalent
- Experience working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people who are under stress, and with a diverse population.
- Computer skills: Ability to learn/work with a complex information management system.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and set priorities.
- Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and procedures.

- Ability to tolerate interruptions and switch to a different task before the first one is complete.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
